Stone Grey Envy July 30, 2008

Swallowing pills like the day swallows souls,
A need for change, to make a mark on the world
Surrounded by flesh of the internal day
Surrounded by others trying to see the way
A blanket of envy, stone, and grey
Tossing out honesty like epics in hand
Stories start in the middle, castles built out of sand
Emptied by others, like a bottle in the sea
Emptied by brothers who I thought were like me
A blanket of grey, stone, and envy
A battle fought silently, like soldiers long lost
A cry echoes gently in the loins of their host
Completed by crusades designed to atone
Completed by love, all but alone
A blanket of envy, grey, and stone
