Trepidation tumbles
Down nape
Spilling over me…
As I suck in
Hard air
Stage.rooted, soon set free.
Words wait
Weakening
Unspoken subtlety.
Illumination soon released
Fertile.flawed
Depressed voices flee.
Repressed voices see
In me
Speaks surefooted poetry.

Strong poetry with the soft touch of fear. Nice!
That fear is so palpable but disappears when one starts reciting..
I have had these moments too. The best part is I am ateacher and I should not be afraid to read aloud.
Wow! What a way to begin, great flow.
My best lines…
“Depressed voices flee
Repressed voices see”
A sweet mixture of self-emancipation and fear, put to flow so nicely. I love this poem. Good work!
Trepidation, I just love that word. Congratulations. Hope one day I may write like you.
Beautiful. Two images come to mind when I read this poem. One, I see a man on stage attempting to read his poem for the first time who “speaks surefooted poetry.” Figuratively, I see a delicate flower breaking through a stitch of earth, growing against the odds. Speaking a language we can’t hear… only see, if we choose.
I enjoyed this poem very much. Thanks for sharing.
